Item Details

Description

This is a Chicago St Paul and Kansas City Railway color advertising piece dated between 1886 and 1893. This railroad began as the Minnesota and Northwestern in 1854, only to become the CSTP&KC in 1886. Later, it would be absorbed into the Chicago Great Western in 1893, so it was only around for seven years. The piece touts the railroad as the bankers choice, and the best route to Lake Minnetonka and the summer resorts of the Northwest. Banks and land companies supporting the railroad in Emporia, KS also are advertised on the reverse side. One small tear in the upper right side of the piece, otherwise it is in fine condition! CGW or CNW enthusiasts will want this piece for their collections!
