Description
This is a pair of switchmans lanterns from Canadian railroads. The first is a Handlan-Buck lantern from the Canadian Pacific Railway. Has a red Corning CNX globe, and a twist off fount and burner. Globe retainer is currently stuck to the top of the globe but likely just needs to be cleaned for easy removal. CPRY is cast onto the top rim of the lantern. Chimney has had six extra vent holes drilled in it at one time. The second is a Hiram L. Piper lantern from the Canadian National Railroad. It has a clear cast Corning CNX globe cast with CNR and ADLAKE KERO. Correct burner and fount. Manufacturers date of 4/1954 on the bottom. A few dents on the chimney, and was painted black at some point in its life. A good candidate to be stripped to original metal!
