Item Details

Description

This is a pair of switchmans lanterns from Midwestern railroads. The first is an Adlake Kero from the Illinois Central Railroad. Cast with I.C.R.R. on the rim, it has a clear cast Kopp circled K globe, and the correct burner and fount. Manufacturers date of 4/1940 on the bottom. The second lantern is an Adlake 250 Kero from the Chicago St Paul Minneapolis and Omaha Railway. Cast with C.ST.P.M & O. RY. on the chimney, it has a plain clear globe, a Dressel fount, and the correct burner. Patent dates of 1911, 1913, and 1922.
