The origin of the gold and silver inlay technique can be traced back to the Spring and Autumn period, flourishing during the late Warring States period and Western Han dynasty. Banquets held during the Warring States period were crucial diplomatic events between states, and the display of novel artifacts during these feasts served to spark conversation and facilitate exchanges. During this era, advancements in bronze craftsmanship, including techniques such as inlaying, gold-silver juxtaposition, gilding, and engraving, reached a high level of sophistication. Gold and Silver inlaid bronze animal models depicting deer are particularly rare. Refer to a Warring States period bronze deer in the collection of Inner Mongolia Museum.
