Irwin Allen's Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961) was a theatrical smash hit that enabled him to go on and produce a series of some of the most memorable sci-fi and fantasy-based shows ever to grace a TV screen, with "Land of the Giants", "Time Tunnel", "Lost in Space" and "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" dominating TV schedules into the early 1970s. Offered here is the original painted artwork for the UK Quad by renowned British artist Tom Chantrell, who has produced a marvellous all-action dynamic illustration. Chantrell's artwork adorned posters for classic films, including Hammer productions and Star Wars. The piece comes painted in gouache on an illustration board, with the painted squid and title script being cut-out additions. Also included in the lot is the UK Quad, showing Chantrell's final all-action dynamic artwork. The painted artwork originally came from Chantrell's personal collection and was sold through the official Chantrell Archive.
