Description
A 16 piece collection of vintage and antique Italian, French, and Bohemian Czech glazed majolica ceramic art pottery dinnerware. Various manufacturers, produced circa 1960s to 1970s in rich brown, green, pink, blue, and other naturalistic colors. Includes: one (1) duck form wildlife pitcher (9" x 8.5" x 4.5"); one (1) botanical form leaf tray basket with opposing branch handles and central pink relief floral decoration (2" x 10.5" x 7.75"); one (1) asparagus server basket with opposing asparagus handles and a quintet of vent holes to bottom (4.5" x 9.25" x 7"); one (1) covered sauce boat with attached underplate and relief botanical decorations (4" x 8" x 7.25"); one (1) Art Nouveau antique glazed footed pink botanical form compote dish server on a trio of stem form feet, by French artist Delphin Massier (1836-1907), signed to underside DELPHIN MASSIER VALLAURIS with assistant initials (3" x 8.25" x 8.25"); one (1) round chop plate platter with woven form border and central relief botanical palm leaf decorations (1.25" x 12" x 12"); six (6) salad or dessert plates with relief botanical decorations (largest measures approximately .85" x 8.5" x 8.5"); one (1) antique French majolica salad plate with relief botanical decorations and stamped to underside SARREGUEMINES FRANCE (.5" x 7.5" x 7.5"); one (1) antique French majolica salad plate with botanical berries and leaves decorations and stamped to underside SARREGUEMINES (.5" x 7.75" x 7.75"); one (1) vintage Italian majolica salad plate with basket weave and botanical leaf decorations and stamped to underside ETRUSCAN MAJOLICA (1" x 8.75" x 8.75"); and one (1) vintage Eichwald Bohemian Czech round jardiniere flower pot with opposing relief botanical decorations, raised relief mark EICHWALD CZECHOSLOVAKIA, and stamped ERPHILA, a mark found on Czechoslovakian pottery and porcelain made after 1920 (5.25" X 6.75" X 6.75"). No other signatures or backstamps, except as noted above.
Condition: Good overall condition having mild age related wear, with evidence of crazing, minor loss, and use related surface scratches to some pieces. Estate fresh to the market.
