Description
Lydia Quezada Talavera (Mexican, Mata Ortiz, ca. 1950s to present) An elegant "three-blacks" pottery vase by Mata Ortiz artist, Lydia Quezada, younger sister to Juan Quezada, a major force in Mata Ortiz pottery. The striking stone polished geometric motifs are highly reflective and framed by a slightly rougher black ground layered over the burnished pot. The sculptural rim adds drama to his already striking piece! Lydia Quezada is famous for her use of black-on-black pottery and mirror-like finishes that contrast with the matte surface. Size: 8" Diameter x 12.25" H (20.3 cm x 31.1 cm); 13" H (33 cm) on included custom stand.
