ADMISSION 2 NUTS. 1943. 1943, McCandlish Litho, Philadelphia, PADesigned and illustrated by the famous World War II artist Lawson Wood, this was one of the most popular lithographs ever commissioned and used by the Greatest Show on Earth. A poignant detail to the illustration is the lack of an adult male figure entering the big top with the family. At the time this was being posted, most American men were fighting the war overseas. This is a half-sheet (approx. 22 x 28”), unmounted. GD. There is some wrinkling to the paper, and a very small tear in the upper border (above the letter “g” in Ringling), all of which will clean up nicely if linen backed. “As-is” the poster displays nicely.
