A pair of vintage French white porcelain plates with polychrome transfer-printed design after artworks by Pablo Picasso, 1881 to 1973, a prominent Spanish Modernist artist. First. A plate with a sketch of a rooster, after a 1943 Le Coq color pencil drawing. Marked Limoges France on the backside. Second. A plate with featuring the 1950 Dove and Face ink drawing and a quote from Paul Eluard in French underneath: L homme en proie a la paix se couronne d espoir, The man in the grip of peace crowns himself with hope.
