Description
Featured in this lot is this 1940s German cane given to soldiers after their retirement in the army. The cane shows a knob style handle constructed of wood, covered in a light brown colored resin material. Below the knob handle is a metal tag wrapped around the shaft of the cane reading, "Zur Erinnerung An Meine Dienstzeit" translating to "To Commemorate My Time of Service". The shaft of the cane has been painted black and the bottom is capped with a metal piece. The cane shows good condition overall with some slight wear to the knob handle and paper residue on the shaft from previous stickers, but no signs of major damage are present. The cane measures 34 3/4" in height and 1 3/8" in diameter.
