Description
Sharon Boysel (1939-2022) American, Photographic Construction. Titled 'Pharmacy #6, Guilin, China' 1993. Signed and titled. Boysel begins with her photographs, draws and paints on them and adds three dimensional objects creating a full blown environment. Overall Size: 23 1/4 x 24 5/8 in. Sight Size: 14 x 15 1/2 in. Thickness: 3 in. #1067 . Sharon was born into an artistic family who lived in Venice, Florida and Canton, Michigan. She received a Master of Fine Arts degree from San Jose State University. She studied painting, photography, printmaking, collage, installation and multimedia. She did post graduate work at the San Francisco Art Institute. She had many exhibitions nationally and abroad and won many awards from the 1970's to the early 90's. She exhibited the Allrich Gallery in San Francisco among others. Her work is in the permanent collection of San Jose State a University. Her papers are held in the Smithsonian archives. She was also a collector of other artists works and together with her husband, Tech Pioneer Lee Boysel, she selected works that appealed to her connoisseurs eye for their collection.
