Itzchak Tarkay (1935-2012), Israeli, Serigraph. Numbered, 197/350 in lower left. Embossed stamp on paper under the numbers. Signed in lower right. Serigraph depicting a scene in front of Cafe Jarden. Focal point being the two ladies sitting at a small table with drinks. Overall Size: 34 7/8 x 33 3/8 in. Sight Size: 25 x 23 1/2 in. Tarkay focuses on the female figure by using simplicity of form and line, along with a rich palette, to create sensitive portraits of elusive ladies. After the war, he returned home and developed an interest in art. While still at school in Subotica, he won a prize for excellence in painting.
