Late 19th century, marks to movement "Japy Freres & Cie, Exposition 1855 Grande Med. D'Honneur" and "5545", striking bell movement, painted metal dial with Roman numerals, with gilt bronze border and glass front panel, back with hinged bronze and glass panel opening to works, set in porcelain surround with painted scroll and foliate designs, gilt accents, surmounted by large removable porcelain figure of man seated on a stump and leaning on a walking stick with dog sitting at his feet; approx. 13"W, 16"H, 6"D; with pendulum but no key, in working condition at time of inspection but not guaranteed, cracks to porcelain face, repair and loss to branch on left side of man---From the estate of Joseph Ewing, long-time antiques dealer in OH, NC, and SC, to benefit the Laurens County Museum Association and the Laurens County Humane Society, Laurens, SC.
