Description
Japanese, six-panel floor screen, Edo period, probably form the 18th century. It was painted on silk by gold as the background and polychrome inks for the figures and motifs. It is framed by twolayers of brocade with the wooden lacquer outer frame. The delicately painted screen features banquet scenery, with officials sitting on the stage in the middle, and musicians playing assorted musical instruments; on either side arewomen dressing in their stunning kimono.
