Celia Ivon Veloz Saenz (Mexican, Mata Ortiz, b. 1982) A beautiful pottery vase by award winning artist Celia Veloz, a second-generation Mata Ortiz potter. The redware surface is precisely painted with delicate linear and geometric motifs in matte beige pigments. Mata Ortiz pottery was inspired by ancient Paquime pottery traditions, discovered at the nearby archaeological site of Casas Grandes. The base is signed by the artist. Size: 7" Diameter x 8.75" H (17.8 cm x 22.2 cm)
