Description
Green Porcelain Display Bottle, with Foreign-Color Twining Lotus Design, Qing Dynasty, Daoguang Period. This collection features a curled mouth, a long neck, a spherical belly, and a circular foot. It is covered with green glaze on the ground and has a bright color. The top of the collection is painted with more than three patterns of Western colored Wanfu flowers and butterflies, while the neck is decorated with red bats. Lotus flowers bloom and blue auspicious knots are attached below. The vines and leaves around it are lush, and the butterflies on the shoulders dance against each other. There are three patterns between the three lotus flowers on the abdomen, with Buddha's hands, peaches, and pomegranates coexisting in one branch. The fruit branches and leaves are colorful, and the composition is intricate and magnificent. The painting is complex yet rigorous The state of being. Gold is painted along the mouth and near the feet to highlight the magnificence and nobility of this product. The bottom and inner mouth of the vessel are coated with turquoise green glaze, and the outer bottom center is inscribed with a six character, three line seal script style in alum red script "Made in the Guangnian period of the Qing Dynasty"."Bat" sounds homophonic with "fu", and the combination of bat and tangled lotus has the meaning of "continuous blessings and longevity" or "continuous blessings and longevity". San Duo Wen is a popular decorative pattern on porcelain during the Gan and Jia periods of the Qing Dynasty, which was widely used in later dynasties. It is recorded in the book "Zhuangzi Wai Pian Tian Di": "Yao Guan was in Huafeng, and the person in charge of Huafeng wished, saying, 'Let the sage live a long life, let the sage be blessed, and let the sage be blessed with many men.'" In folk culture, Buddha's hand oranges are homophonic with the word "fu" to symbolize "fu", and peaches are harmonious with the word "longevity" to symbolize "longevity", while pomegranates are harmonious with the word "many men.", It is called "Three Blessings and Longevity" or "Three Blessings of Huafeng", which expresses the prayer of having many blessings, longevity, and children.During the reign of Emperor Daoguang, the Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Factory no longer had a supervisor in charge of its affairs, but was supervised by local officials. The production of imperial kiln porcelain was in a state of conservation. Its style and patterns all inherit the old system of the previous dynasty and dare not be violated. Even in the early Jiaqing period, the artifacts produced in imperial kilns still fell under the reign title of Emperor Qianlong. The style and craftsmanship of porcelain still maintain a high level, hence the saying "dry, Jia kiln". During the Jiaqing period, the scale of imperial kilns, the variety and production quantity of porcelain had been greatly reduced. According to the records of the Guangchu Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the fourth year of the Daoguang reign (1799), the annual payment for firing official kilns was increased from 10000 taels of silver to over 7000 taels, and soon it was reduced to 5000 taels. In November of the eleventh year of the Daoguang reign (1806), an edict was issued stating that "starting from next year, Jiujiangguan will introduce the Dayun porcelain and reduce it by half for firing." However, as a small appreciation vase with more than three thousand blessings of green space foreign colors and butterfly patterns, which is difficult to burn and has high production costs, it was preserved and continued to be produced during the Daoguang period, indicating the court's love for such "foreign color patterns, auspicious words of new style" artifacts. In addition, by consulting public and private collection materials, it can be found that there are currently a large number of Daoguang colored ground color vessels and green space works, indicating that this color is highly favored by Emperor Daoguang. This piece is noble and elegant, with exquisite and gorgeous decoration. The intricate pattern layout and patterned decoration fully showcase the luxurious artistic style of porcelain from the Qianlong period, making it an excellent work of Daoguang Western colored pottery.
