Description

ASSORTED INK BOTTLES / INKWELLS, LOT OF EIGHT, various shapes and colors, including a deep teal-green base-embossed Carter's 1897 cone, a lighter teal shoulder-embossed Carter's, a J&IEM turtle/igloo ink, a colorless rectangular double pen-rest with illegible base embossing, and others. Various makers. Fourth quarter 19th century. 2 1/2" H Carter's 1897 cone, 4" HOA.

Provenance:

Collection of the late Al and Billy Steidel, Alexandria, VA.

Condition

Mostly excellent, J&IEM, Gilt-Edge Dressing and Carter's 1897 undamaged; others with no more than minor wear or minor to moderate sickness, except shoulder-embossed Carter's having a large crack around the heel.
