Description
Mark Twain autographed letter signed and dated June 17, 1898 to Richard Watson Gilder (1844-1909). Sent from Kaltenleutgeben near Vienna, Austria where Twain lived for a half year. The letter references a correspondence he sent about a paragraph named "A Szczepanick Episode." This is in reference to Jan Szczepanick, a Polish inventor. The letter has excellent content is in written so that a page does not have to be turned. Signed ?Mark.? Boldly written by Twain with a very strong and solid signature.
Condition
The letter has been folded vertically and horizontally with some splitting on the vertical fold with some possible repair being done. Small spilt at the top moving down about 1.5 inches with an equal split up from the bottom. Has a pencil w. 8.75" h. 5.625"
