The painter of this canvas copies the work "Bubbles", originally titled "The World of a Child", by the English painter Sir John Everett Millais. Through the resource of the soap bubble, the painter alludes to the Dutch vanitas genre symbolizing the fragility of life and the passage of time. The original canvas became famous when it was used for many generations in advertisements for Pears soap.
