Description
**Originally Listed At $200**

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A set of two mold-formed lead votive mirrors exhibiting annular mirror faces and integral handles. The first mirror has a handle adorned in zigzags and an obverse mirror face surrounded by pairs of S-shaped lines with a plant leaf on top. The larger mirror features a forked handle and a mirror face adorned with a low relief laurel wreath. A Latin word raised on the back gives the name Godri, perhaps to identify the manufacturer or mirror's owner. Each openwork central cavity once held a glass or polished silver mirror to see one's reflection. Size of largest: 2" W x 4.5" H (5.1 cm x 11.4 cm)

Provenance: private Farmer collection, Maryland, USA, acquired before 2010
