Description
**Originally Listed At $400**

Western Europe, probably Italy or France, Neoclassical period, ca. 19th century CE. A pretty pair of agate cameos, each skillfully carved with the bust of a Classical female in profile. Sculpted from creamy white stone against a translucent pink ground, the first female faces right and wears a tiara, her hair pulled back in a loose chignon that cascades down the nape of her neck. Alternatively, the other cameo presents hues of beige and translucent apricot, as the woman gazes left, crowned by a headband and a tight bun. Size of largest (similar in size): 1" L x 0.6" W (2.5 cm x 1.5 cm)

Provenance: East Coast collection, New York Gallery, New York City, New York, USA, acquired before 2010
