A gorgeous porcelain box adorned with Neoclassical decoration of a heavily gilt tondo containing a Roman bust on the lid and chain-link decoration around the exterior walls, all supported by gold-washed brass feet in Greek meander motif. A pair of gold-washed brass handles flank the octagonal vessel with additional gold-washed brass lining the top and bottom rims and forming the clasp. Box is detached from stand/feet. Some nicks to base and peripheries of base, as well as slight wobble to feet. Otherwise, excellent with nice preservation of pigments, detail, and gilding. Light patina throughout.
