Pink and red wool yarn in a checkerboard pattern on pin-prick paper, 2/3 complete, with needle and remaining yarn, and with 19th C. penmanship sample on paper pinned upper right with the name "Elizabeth Gertrude Mary Pattson" in ink amongst leaves and flourishes, presumably the name of the school girl who stitched the sampler. Period gilt frame with minor surface losses. Frame, approx. 8" x 8".
