Election of 1860 Tally Paper From Harrison County, IN Documenting Votes for Lincoln's First Presidential Bid
Partly printed document with meticulous and extensive tally marks counting the electoral votes received by Lincoln and his opponents, Stephen Douglas, John Breckenridge and John Bell, one page, measuring 23" x 18" (folded 8.75" x 11.5"), Harrison County, Indiana, entered November 8, 1860. Expected creasing and soiling at folds, otherwise fine.
On May 18, 1860, Lincoln was nominated for President at the Republican National Convention in Chicago, and on November 6thwas elected President, winning 39% of the popular vote but nearly 60% of the electoral vote.
