bears marks, Claude Lisonnet, Paris, 1754/ 1755, charge and discharge marks of Julien Berthe 1750-1756, French restricted warranty mark for gold, Paris 1838 onward, the flange engraved with inventory number 88713, ingot-shaped, the cover enamelled en basse-taille in translucent blue on a horizontally reeded ground with trophies of Gardening, a vase of flowers, fruit and foliate sprays, the base and sides similarly enamelled, all over engine-turned to create a wickerwork pattern of concentrically chased diagonal squares and polished gold bands, the cagework mount of the lid chased with ribbon-twist band enclosing starbursts, those of the sides and base chased with husking, internal wavy flange, the interior cover engraved with the coat-of-arms of the Pindray d'Ambelle family of Perigord, France and Ile Bourbon, Reunion. 3.3cm high, 5.5cm wide, 3cm deep, 113 grams
