Also the scale has a push down lever at the L/S side rear of the case to raise the operation and engage the balance weight beam. This mechanism is hidden inside a center greek style column at the back of the inside case. Brass trays hang from fine twisted strings with balance fringe. Used by coin silversmiths when weighing stock or an apothecary type scale. Bottom drawer has 5 different DWTS penny weights inside. Measures 9-3/4"W x 12-3/8"H x 4-1/4"D. The front R/S lwr corner has a 3/4" wood replacement repair due to a broken dovetail. The drawer has a chip on the inside side corner and the piece is in the drawer.
