Japanese Boro, Early 20th C. Cotton. Boro, translated as 'tattered clothing,' is a Japanese textile crafted from patches of recycled fabrics. Highly esteemed within the Japanese folk art movement, pieces like these embody a sense of beauty in practicality. Typically, these patchwork textiles were repurposed into futon covers and various other household items. Size: 4'7'' x 2'2'' (140 x 66 cm). Provenance: Ex Yosi Barzilai collection.
