Description
Tashkent Beaded Hat, Uzbekistan, Early 20th C. The beadwork of this hat features a design motif of small bugs, with their legs scrambling over the surface, creating quadrants separated by exposed strips of velvet. Colorful glass trade beads are skillfully used to create the appearance of a vibrant flower garden. Size: 3'' x 7'' x 6.5'' (8 x 18 x 17 cm). See Plate 134, "Hats on the Silk Road," Russell S.
