Description
Terra-cotta planter decorated with cherub face and acanthus decorations - appears to be hand sculptured - see photos. Measures 8 1/4"W x 8 3/4"D x 10"H. Early 20th century. Some weathering, but overall good condition. Provenance: From the Thomas & Gail Rockwell collection, LaGrangeville NY. Tom is the son of the renowned American artist, Norman Rockwell and the author or many children's books. His late wife Gail, was an artist-illustrator and the daughter of Arthur E. Sudler and Janet Whitson Sudler, both early 20th century artists - she illustrated several of her husband's children's books.
