A very fine folk art fretwork picture frame decorated with a spread wing eagle on crest with leaves and flowers flanked by a pheasant and squirrel - other squirrels, flowers and leaves around the perimeter. Some losses and one loose leaf - see photos for further details on losses. Total frame size approximately 9"W x 12 1/2"H - the opening measures 4 3/8" x 6 5/8". Provenance: From the Thomas & Gail Rockwell collection, LaGrangeville NY. Tom is the son of the renowned American artist, Norman Rockwell and the author or many children's books. His late wife Gail, was an artist-illustrator and the daughter of Arthur E. Sudler and Janet Whitson Sudler, both early 20th century artists - she illustrated several of her husband's children's books.
