A beautiful 14k gold amethyst brooch. The purple stone surrounded by tiny pearls and a hand painted gilt over blue border, probably late 19th to early 20th century. Very good condition with no damage or repairs - Marked 14k on the pin. Measures 1 1/4" x 1" and weighs 11 grams. Provenance: From the Thomas & Gail Rockwell collection, LaGrangeville NY. Tom is the son of the renowned American artist, Norman Rockwell and the author or many children's books. His late wife Gail, was an artist-illustrator and the daughter of Arthur E. Sudler and Janet Whitson Sudler, both early 20th century artists - she illustrated several of her husband's children's books.
