An unusual Rancho Alegre sterling silver brooch depicting an Aztec woman with sterling mask and neckline with exposed breasts over a black composition face, possibly polished onyx - signed "Rancho Alegre / Sterling / Hecho En Mexico/ Sterling 925". Very good condition. Measures 2 1/4" x 1 7/8". Provenance: From the Thomas & Gail Rockwell collection, LaGrangeville NY. Tom is the son of the renowned American artist, Norman Rockwell and the author or many children's books. His late wife Gail, was an artist-illustrator and the daughter of Arthur E. Sudler and Janet Whitson Sudler, both early 20th century artists - she illustrated several of her husband's children's books.
