A grouping of hand written pen and ink pages of musical scores. One in a book signed Charles Henry Grippen, Gt. Barrington. MASS 1844 - 11 pages; 3 other hand written musical pages inscribed "Grand Gallop from Zampa / Arranged and most respectfully dedicated to Miss Phoebe Collins by Charles Grube" - circa 1830-50. A one page score with pen and ink inscription on top that reads "The Ocean Buriel / Composed and Dedicated to Misses Harriet & Mary Halsey, of Blooming Grove O.C. N.Y. by Miss Agnes H. James." (Blooming Grove in Orange County NY). Most pages in good condition - the largest 10" x 13". Provenance: From the Thomas & Gail Rockwell collection, LaGrangeville NY. Tom is the son of the renowned American artist, Norman Rockwell and the author or many children's books. His late wife Gail, was an artist-illustrator and the daughter of Arthur E. Sudler and Janet Whitson Sudler, both early 20th century artists - she illustrated several of her husband's children's books.
