Antique George III Musical Bracket Clock by Hare London

Item Details

Description

Antique George III style musical bracket clock, attributed to the renowned Hare of London. It features an arched mahogany wood case, ornately adorned with gilt brass mounts, and is topped with a brass handle, and is accented by a quartet of acorn finials. The clock boasts a sophisticated movement, equipped with a striking mechanism on a bell. It features a unique musical component, offering a selection of tunes played on a nest of bells. The songs included are "Waltz," "Bonny Lad," "Jigg," "Hornpipe," and "Miss Baker Hornpipe,". A clear glass panel on the front arch door opens to reveal an interior compartment with a brass filigree accent panel. This panel is set with a circular white enamel face, decorated with Roman numerals, and stamped with 'HARE LONDON'. The clock also includes two secondary enamel dials for chime settings. The back door, similar in design, opens to the interior compartment housing the brass and metal chimes and movement, also marked with 'HARE LONDON'. The clock is supported by eight scrolling feet, adding to its stately presence.

Dimensions: 14 X 10.5 X 8 in.

Condition: Good overall condition having mild age related surface wear and patina. Untested, and may require winding, service, repair, and/or parts. No keys are included with this lot. Estate fresh to the market.
