Pair of Relief Decorated Meissen Style Baluster Vases, 20th c., with applied flowers and a reserve of an oriental couple, each seated at a table, H.- 16 3/4 in., W.- 9 1/2 in., D.- 7 in. (2 Pcs.)

Both vases exhibit extensive professional restoration that is well-integrated and not readily visible without a high power white light or UV light. The vase with the male figure has been re-glazed on most of the inside. Half of the rim on the outside has been overglazed and gilded- though no major break was detected under UV light. The gilding on the handles has notable wear. The second vase with the woman has three well-done repairs to the rim with excellent overglazing. Another ~1 inch of the rim has been visibly broken and repaired with an adhesive. Both handles have also been repaired, overglazed and gilded, with much of the gilt now worn. Both examples exhibit scattered tiny losses and repairs to the applied foliate tips and edges, as is to be expected with age and material.
