Dimensions of Ganesh Mask: 6 7/8"(w) x 8"(l)
Weight of Lot: 14 ounces
For your consideration is a set of (2) Tibetan brass masks inlaid with carved bovine bone, coral and turquoise depicting the heads of Mahakala and Ganesh. Mahakala, the God of Time, Maya, Creation, Destruction and Power, is a fierce figure of protection and destruction in that he represents the natural ability to promote what is sane and decent and to eliminate what is unreasonable and harmful. Ganesh, a beloved god in all Hindu sect is revered as the remover of obstacles and thought to bring good luck.

Please use all images as addendum to condition statement. As these mask are folk art in nature, they are made with available materials and not always perfect or complete. This is most evident in metal portions of the mask showing slight imperfections. All inlay is in great shape with only one noted loss to coral element in Mahakala's right eyebrow. Condition reports and additional photographs are provided by request as a courtesy to our clients. The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free of defects, imperfections, restoration, wear and tear, or the effects of aging.
