East / North Africa, Ethiopian or Berber / Tuareg culture, ca, late 19th to mid-20th century CE. A large sterling silver ring etched with linear symbols. The style is reminiscent of Tifinagh script. North African and Ethiopian rings are often inscribed with talismanic symbols that are often related to Islamic and Tuareg beliefs, which guide and protect the wearer. This ring is wearable and a larger size ideal for a thumb or man's hand. Size: 0.93" L x 0.2" W (2.4 cm x 0.5 cm); band opening: 0.81" L (2.1 cm); US ring size: 11.25 silver quality: 93% to 94%; weight: 3.7 grams
