Single-board top blind-dovetailed to solid ends, canted at top to receive cockbead-molded top, which has half-mitered cleats joined to sides and continuous half-round border of rope-pattern stringing centering elliptical strips of triple-string inlay forming a lozenge across front, lid opening on later hinges over interior with joined panel prospect door flanked by document drawers and two columns of drawers over shaped and valanced compartments, the drawers with cherry fronts dovetailed to poplar secondary components; all above case of four graduated drawers inlaid with lozenge motif conforming with lid and separated by half-dovetailed dividers, the bottom drawer over full dust board, set in molded and roping-inlaid base raised on dovetailed scroll bracket feet (restoration to drawers, drawer runners, and hinged edge of lid, prospect door detached, refinished surfaces throughout, brasses replaced)., closed, 109cm wide, 50cm deep, 121cm high (43in wide, 20 3/4in deep, 48in high).
