Description
A Spanish tin glazed pottery triangular salt cellar or condiment vessel. Painted in the serie tricolor palette, possibly Puente del Arzobispo or possibly Talavera, circa 1600 ? 1650. These beautiful triangular tin glaze / delft condiment vessels were a staple product of the potteries of Talavera and Puente at around the time that the first colonies were being founded at Jamestown and elsewhere on the east coast of America. The colors employed here - dark blue, orange and manganese. Each of the sides are 6" X 1 3/4". Flaking to the glaze, considering the age it is in good condition no cracks or repairs.
