In the style of French Impressionism / Winslow Homer, it depicts two young women standing on a cliff looking out to sea. Soft hues, skillful use of light. Artist signed lower left: John Absolon. On reverse gallery sticker identifies the work as attributable to John Absolon or his son, John de Mansfield Absolon (1843- 1879). Painted gilt wood frame.
John Absolon RI ( 1815 - 1895) was a British watercolorist who specialized in figure painting. He studied in London and then Paris.
