After being wrongfully convicted of a triple murder, Carter attempted to prove his innocence by keeping notes on a notepad he later shared with Lisa Peters (Deborah Kara Unger).

This yellow lined legal pad is labeled "evidence" on top and features doodles and various notes about Carter's case, including "Gave a lot of help to Bello," referring to Alfred Bello (Vincent Pastore) and "Pat Graham - on Feb. 17 1976," referring to Patty Valentine (Pippa Pearthree), handwritten in blue and black ink on the front. The pad comes backed with a color-printed display featuring stills of Carter boxing, in prison, and carrying his notepad. The paper exhibits edge wear from production use.
