Description
2 Large groupings of early chinese ceramics and export porcelain. First grouping: Five pieces of Chinese Export porcelain, Chien Lung period. 1st item: Bowl with iron red border and floral sprig decoration, orange peel texture glaze, marked on base with old museum accession number 58.2502. 2-1/2"H x 5-1/3" diameter. 2nd item: Famille rose tea cup with decoration depicting fishermen and boats. 1-3/4"H. 3rd and 4th item: pair of teacups, blue and white with Willow style landscape decoration, 5th item: small dish or saucer with blue and white landscape decoration and Chinese character mark to underside, 4" diameter. All Chinese, 18th century. Second grouping: Lot of fifteen (15) Chinese and Chinese-style ceramics. Lot includes six pieces of blue and white porcelain ware-1 lobed bowl, 3 regular bowls, 1 saucer and 1 miniature pot with Asian motifs, together with three porcelain saucers decorated with green and red glaze, three small celadon pots, 1 possibly Korean small blue and white craquelure pot, 1 earthenware vase with a black, abstract motif with craquelure and 1 brown earthenware vase with a flared neck and rounded base.
Condition
First grouping: 1st item: some rubbing to exterior border decoration (underglaze). 2nd item: scattered rim chips, a 1" hairline extending from rim. 3rd and 4th item: significant dark crazing. 5th item: 1 very small rim chip. Second grouping: One blue and white bowl has small chips on lip. Miniature blue and white pot has chips and grime to lip and base rim. Biggest chip: 1-2". One celadon pot has 1/2" chip to lip. Possible Korean pot has damage to lip. Earthenware vase with black motif has chips to lip.
