Description
Navajo Ye'ii pictoral rug depicting four (4) figures with headdresses. Light brown field with colors of cream, orange, mauve, and red. 55" x 35". 1st half 20th century. Provenance: This rug was given to the consignor's parents in the late 1930's as a wedding present by Navajo Indians on the reservation near the Canyon de Chelly of Arizona. The original owner was a Civil Engineer working for the U. S. Department of the Interior as a land surveyor, laying out trails on the reservation.
Condition
Scattered wear with two holes in field, borders frayed, and some surface grime.
