GERMAN WW1 CUFF TITLE, CROWN, DATED, OAKLEAVES
Very high-quality German WWI/WWII cuff title. It features dark green velvet with gold wire-colored thread embroidery and has gold cord trim. There are Oakleaves on each end, a fancy Imperial Crown in the center, and gold numbers that appear to be '19..5'. It has been on a uniform and shows some wear, with some missing gold wire from the letters, but it's still a nice, solid, and full-length piece. It measures 1 3/8 inches in width and comes from a local veteran's estate sale.
TEST: This particular item has passed a very important test: it does not glow under a black lamp. (Please note that all fabrics made after 1945 typically glow under black light). For further details, please refer to the images.

HISTORY: World War I (often abbreviated as WWI or WW1), also known as the First World War or the Great War, was a global war originating in Europe that lasted from 28 July 1914 to 11 November 1918. Contemporaneously described as the 'war to end all wars' more than 70 million military personnel, including 60 million Europeans, were mobilized in one of the largest wars in history. An estimated nine million combatants and seven million civilians died as a direct result of the war, while it is also considered a contributory factor in a number of genocides and the 1918 influenza epidemic, which caused between 50 to 100 million deaths worldwide. Military losses were exacerbated by new technological and industrial developments and the tactical stalemate caused by grueling trench warfare.
