A tranquil oil on canvas painting titled "Paisagem Urbana" or "Urban Landscape" by Brazilian artist Romeu Caiani. Contradictory to the title, the painting does not show a city scene but instead a peaceful pastoral setting of horses grazing in a golden field with a few rustic houses and lush, green trees rising in the background. A slender path meanders from foreground to background, leading one's eye across the pasture. Note how Caiani's warm pigments, liberal strokes, and minimalist detail give the meadow an almost dreamlike quality. Romeu Caiani was a painter, draftsman, caricaturist, engraver, and teacher, cited in "Guia das Artes Plasticas - Brasil" by Maria Alice and Julio Louzada.
