South Asia, India, ca. 20th century CE; Southeast Asia, Burma (Myanmar), ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A cast bronze Jambupati Buddha figurine with an elaborate headdress upon a pedestal, and a brass Ganesha with multiple elephant heads and 6 arms. Ganesha's portly body is seated on a hollow, conical pedestal with a rat perched on the rim, his hands hold holy implements. The bronze buddha figure is seated on a hourglass shaped pedestal with lotus petals and holds his hands in a meditative pose, wings to the side of his tall spire crown. The story of the Jambupati Buddha is particularly popular in Burma and tells of a king of that name who was humbled by the Buddha and converted. Size of Ganesha: 2.25" L x 1.5" W x 3.25" H (5.7 cm x 3.8 cm x 8.3 cm)

Condition
Losses to tips of Buddha crown and wings. Cracks and fissures on base rim. Softening and rubbing to Ganesha figure, otherwise intact. Casting imperfections on both figures. Patina and dark toning.
