Description
American Queen Anne Cherry Highboy, Litchfield County, CT, 18th c., the superstructure with a stepped crown above a central shell carved drawer flanked by stacked double drawers on each side, over three graduated drawers, atop a stepped base with one long drawer over three smaller drawers, the center with fan carving, on cabriole legs with raised pad feet joined by a scrolled skirt, H.- 73 in., W.- 41 1/2 in., D.- 18 1/2 in.
Condition
Structurally sound. Retains a fine French polished finish, possibly dating from 1959, very rich. Replaced hardware. Minor open spacing in a few drawers from runner rail wear. A few chips and losses on drawer front corners as well as possible small repairs consistent with furniture of this period. Overall chips, nicks, marks, abrasions and imperfections all consistent with age and use. An attractive piece.
