An antique woodblock vertical print of stunning hand paint color, and ink on paper. Edo Period, features a powerful whirlpool, waves crashing against the rocks. Though the title series is not indicated, the original print can be found in the 1853-1856 book, Views of Famous Places in the Sixty-Odd Provinces, by the ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Hiroshige (Japanese, 1797-1858), the last great master of ukiyo-e art. Title of print on the top right. Hiroshige's signature on the left. The print is placed as the front of a Christmas Greeting card. Card size: 4.25"W x 6.75"H. Sight size: 2.5"W x 2.75"H.
