Item Details
Description
Very early Browning Trombone, manufactured in Belgium in 1926. 21.5" round blued barrel with front blade sight and standard rear Browning sight. Standard blued 11 round magazine tube. Gold inlay bands approximately 1/8" from the end of the barrel and 1/8" forward of the receiver. Engraved and double signed by master engraver Angelo Bee, the receiver has 95% coverage featuring incredible scenes of "Diana the Huntress." A tri-tone gold embossed scene on the right depicts Diana laying against a tree with her dog, a bow and quiver. The left presents with a similar tri-tone gold embossed scene showing Diana laying across her dog with bow in hand and quiver to her side. The top presents a two-tone gold embossed scene with Diana and bow, walking beside her dog, with quiver on her back. All scenes including floorplate and trigger guard are surrounded by floral and scroll engraving with punch dot background. Gold plate trigger. Forend and pistol grip buttstock are 2X walnut, both with skip line checkering at 20 LPI. Buttstock is fitted with an engraved metal buttplate and screws, both to match the receiver. An exceptional rifle, most likely attributed to Angelo Bee's early years. CALIBER: .22 LR. S/N: 16229. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
Condition
Barrel retains 98% blue finish. Receiver retains 98% coin finish. Buttstock and forend retain 98% original finish with very faint handling marks. Butt stock needs a little tightening. Frosted bore with visible rifling, good mechanics.
