Description
Excellent pair of consecutive serial number O/U shotguns from French gunmaker Demas. This pair would make an outstanding set of upland bird guns. Gun 1: 26.75" ventilated rib O/U monoblock barrel, fixed chokes, cylinder and cylinder with ejectors and 2.75" chambers. Single brass bead sight. Factory engraving extends to the rib and barrel. Coin finished, hand engraved receiver. Floral style engraving, signed by master engraver "Ripamonti" on bottom plate with 60% total coverage of the receiver. Right sideplate features a pointing dog and woodcocks while the left features a pointing dog and pheasants. Bottom of receiver shows a flying grouse. Top tang lever is 2/3 floral engraved with borders extending down to selective safety. Equipped with single select trigger. Trigger guard is engraved and gold inlaid with #1, consecutive with its sister gun (#2). Select walnut stock with hand rubbed oil finished and fine checkering at 18 LPI. Carved teardrops at back of sideplates. Checkered weighted buttstock. Cast right 0.75". Weight: 6.6lbs. LOP: 14.5". DAC: 1.5". DAH: 2". Gun 1: Overall this firearm retains 98% finish with light handling field marks on butt plate. Good mechanics and good bores. Gun 2: Barrel retains 95% blue finish. Coin finished receiver retains 98% finish. Stock retains 90% hand rubbed finish with rub marks on the cheek area of the Butt plate.
